I have never watched the anime. Not a single episode. And this game was still pretty fun. I've played Broken Bond as well and this is definitely a step in the right direction. Jutsu's are not the end all be all and must be used correctly or the enemy can just block/dodge. Decent way to get the general jist of the story but my friend says a lot of details are missing. Unlike Broken Bond, this one doesn't have much for side quests, you mainly do the story. You'll switch between different characters and take part in crazy boss fights. Usually during the big fights you get to do quick time events to experience the action packed parts. Do well enough and you earn brief little flashback/effects. You do not have to be a Naruto fan to enjoy this game, though it probably helps some.
